Ramblings

Words are deceptive.

So are the choices one gets to make. You might be saying something, while your words hide what you truly want to say. You might be making a choice thinking it is the better one, knowing it isn't.

Life is complicated that way. So are people. We hope, we wish. We pray, we plead. And all the time we hope, wish, pray and plead, we're not sure about it. We're unsure, and we're stuck. We're stuck on the deceptive words and misleading choices, concealing the truth from everyone, and worse, from ourselves.

It's not easy being honest with oneself. If we were honest with ourselves, the world would be a peaceful place. A HAPPY place. But it's the words that come in the way. They speak, they rattle. But they don't reveal. They lead us into wrong impressions, and wrong choices. And we end up somewhere completely unexpected, wondering where we went wrong.

There's a reason why silence is valued. Silence won't lie, it won't mislead. It would speak, and it would reveal far more than any words, if only we know how to listen. There's a reason why simplicity is respected. It's honest, and more often than not, it's a set of better choices.

But we go on ignoring silences, and shunning simplicity, never heeding the small voice in our head that knows better, ending up miserable and confused. And only silence will heal us, and the honest voice that tells us who we really are,  once we accept it.

  1. A lot of the time people speak for the sake of speaking, and say things they haven't really thought about as yet. It's a extremely positive trait and one you should be proud of, that you think about what you say, say only what you mean, and you're honest about it.

None the less, not everyone deserves your honesty. Fight deception with deception.
